Program Description
Students will major in Early Childhood Development in Advanced Child Care Management
Practical Experience
Students gain early childhood development skills through rotations in child development centers, Headstart, private and public kindergartens and special education facilities.
Professional Opportunities
Students with the associate degree can work as teacher aides in the school system or special education facilities; as teachers in child development centers and Headstart programs.
Unique Aspects
Student entering the program must have a criminal background check and health form completed during ECD 102. Any positive criminal background check within the last seven (7) years will result in the student to be terminated from the Early Childhood Development Program. A student who wishes to further his/her education, such as teacher certification at a four year institution, should take the Praxis I exam.
