When will the next class start?

Fall and Spring Semesters
AHS 144, "Phlebotomy Practicum," will begin the first week of classes each Fall and Spring Semester.

Summer Session
Phlebotomy classes are not offered in the Summer Semester; however, you may take AHS 102, “Medical Terminology” during the summer. Please confirm scheduling details (see Search for Classes function under Quick Links)

Does the Phlebotomy Program fill quickly?

Characteristically, Phlebotomy fills quickly, so it is in your best interest to apply as soon as possible. Students are encouraged to apply for the Phlebotomy Program as soon as possible to assure their seat in the class. For additional information on registration procedures, please visit the college's Web site or call  (864) 592-4800 .

If you apply and are placed on the waiting list, don’t give up! Often times people sign up for the class and then change their minds for a variety of personal reasons - family emergency, spouse transfer to another location, pregnancy, etc. You will be notified if a spot becomes available prior to the beginning of classes.

When will I do my clinical training?

Students receive clinical experience during AHS 144 and AHS 146. The clinical rotations are seven weeks in length. Start times may vary depending on where the student is placed. Most hospital assignments will begin at 5:00 a.m.
