Teacher Education Programs


Spartanburg Community College offers six partnerships in teacher education with the University of South Carolina Upstate. Students complete the two-year Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at SCC and transfer to USC Upstate for the final two years of the Bachelor’s Degree.  Entry into the USC Upstate School of Education requires passing scores on the Praxis I Pre-Professional Skills Tests in Mathematics, Reading, and Language Arts and Writing.   SCC offers IDS 104, an online Praxis I test preparation course.   Students will complete EDU 230, Schools in Communities at SCC.  
The associate of arts and science degrees are designed for students whose goal is a bachelor’s degree in education at the University of South Carolina Upstate. Upon completion of the degree requirements, students will transfer to USC Upstate and enter the School of Education to complete coursework. The following are the degrees available at SCC:
