I am new to college
New Student - Never attended college anywhere before? Whether you just graduated from high school or you've been out for several years, we welcome new students of all ages and backgrounds.
 
I want to start at SCC then transfer to another college or university
Transfer to University Student - We offer Transfer to University Program so you can complete core classes your freshman and sophomore year at SCC, then seamlessly transfer to another school to complete your four-year degree. With programs like Upstate Direct Connect (USC Upstate) and Pre-Chiropractic Institute (Sherman College of Chiropractic), there transfer options at SCC to help you succeed!

I want to transfer from another school to SCC
Transfer Student - We welcome students from other institutions - SCC is nationally and regionally accredited.

I will be returning SCC after a long break
Returning Student - Did you take classes at SCC before, and want to return? We can help you get back on track to completing your college career.

I am home from college for the summer and want to take classes at SCC
Transient Student - We welcome students enrolled at other colleges who wish to take courses at SCC for the purpose of transferring the credit hours back to the home institution.

I am still in high school but want to earn college credit
Dual-Enrollment Student - SCC partners with local high schools to offer classes to students still in high school who want to earn college credit.
 
I just want to take a class or two, but not pursue a degree
Special Student - Applicants who are 18 years of age or older and wish to enroll in classes to improve their skills but do not wish to pursue a degree, diploma or certificate may enroll on a space available basis. 
 

I don't have a GED or high school diploma - may I attend?
Non-High School Graduate - Applicants who are at least 18 years of age but have not earned a high school diploma or a GED may apply for admission to selected industrial technology certificate programs, or take non-credit classes through SCC Corporate & Community Education.

 
I want to take a personal interest or professional development class
Continuing Ed. Student - SCC's Corporate & Community Education division offers classes for personal interest, professional development and workforce training.
 
I need specific technical training for my job
Continuing Ed. Student - SCC's Corporate & Community Education division works with local industries and corporations to provide professional development and workforce training.
 
I want to attend SCC, but I am not a US citizen
International Student - Applicant who requests a student visa, transfers from another college under a student visa possesses a visa other than the one approved by SCC and SEVIS (Student Exchange and Visitor Information System).
