Special Admissions Categories
Special Students: Applicants who are 18 years of age or older and wish to enroll in classes to improve their skills but do not wish to pursue a degree, diploma or certificate may enroll on a space available basis. Special students may complete up to 15 credit hours prior to completing regular admission requirements. If a special student decides to enroll in a curriculum program, all regular admissions requirements must be met. Special students are not eligible to receive financial aid or VA benefits.
- Complete and submit a SCC application for admissions.
- Provide SAT or ACT scores that meet the college’s minimum requirement or complete the COMPASS or ASSET skills assessment to determine course placement.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Provide copies of transcripts (high school and college) if required.
- Meet with an admissions counselor for official acceptance to the college.
Transient Students: Students enrolled at other colleges and who wish to take courses at SCC for the purpose of transferring the credit hours back to the home institution.
International Students: Any applicant who requests a student visa, transfers from another college under a student visa possesses a visa other than the one approved by SCC and SEVIS (Student Exchange and Visitor Information System) is classified as an international student.
